According to a recent study men think about sex about 19 times a day. Women are slightly less obsessed but still think about about it 10 times a day. The study found this to be similar to the amount of times people think about food.

A study in America by The Kaiser Institute found that “during the family hour on the main American television networks there were an average of 8.5 sexual interactions during family hour”
Another source of increasing exposure is in adverts. “Advertisers use sex because it can be very effective,” said researcher Tom Reichert, professor and head of the department of advertising and public relations in the UGA Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communication. “Sex sells because it attracts attention. People are hard-wired to notice sexually relevant information, so ads with sexual content get noticed.”
These and similar statistics show that humans clearly think that sex is very important. But is this actually true?
